Chocolate Granola with Vanilla Hemp Protein Milk

Raw granola can be a delicious breakfast treat for those of us eating a raw food diet. I don’t eat it all that often but I do I enjoy it on occassion, especially as a postworkout meal or on a lazy Sunday morning.

Unfortunately most of the commercially available raw granolas are sweetened with [...]

Mamey Sapote: A Delicious Central American Fruit

The mamey sapote has a mildly sweet and earthy taste with a fragrant aroma. I would describe them as being reminiscent of sweet potato with a moist and fairly fibrous flesh. In fact the color is almost exactly like a sweet potato and they are both a rich source of beta carotene. They are much higher in protein than most fruits and are contribute significant amounts of niacin and potassium.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, here is a recipe for a raw vegan version of a favorite holiday tradition; pumpkin pie. This is based on a recipe by Matthew Kenney from his book, Everyday Raw Desserts.

Surprisingly this pie doesn’t contain any pumpkin but the flavor and texture mimics that of traditional pumpkin [...]

Almond milk makes a great replacement for regular milk on your breakfast cereal, in tea or coffee [...]

1 ripe mango (medium sized)

Vanilla and Sesame Shake (Raw Vegan Recipe)

At this time of year you might want something thick and creamy to drink but that still tastes lighter than a heavy nut-milk if you’re trying to lighten your load. I adore vanilla, so having a shake revolve around it is definitely a good thing as far as I can see! [...]
