This raw food recipe is like a healthy version of Mexican tacos. It is one of my favorite recipes for a raw food detox diet because it gives you so much flavor while supporting your goals of cleansing your body.

The Avocado Tomatillo Salsa is very much like a Mexican Salsa Verde. If you can’t find fresh tomatillos you can simply leave them out and add an extra tablespoon of lime juice, plus water as necessary for blending.

I like the salsa to be moderately spicy but you can easily adjust the heat level by altering the amount of jalapeno to suit your own personal preference.

For the pico de gallo I’ve provided a basic outline but it also is fantastic if you add some diced fresh mango. The sweetness of the mango is amazing with the spicy jalapeno.

This recipe makes two servings and only uses half of the salsa. Leftover Avocado Tomatillo Salsa will keep for a few days in a sealed container in the fridge. You can use the extra salsa to make another portion of lettuce wraps, eat it like a dip with raw veggie crudites or as salad dressing.
